WISE Washington DC Works!

By WISE National

Washington DC table at a WISE Event

For a quarter of a century, WISE has successfully helped women in the business of sports navigate and advance their careers by providing networking, mentoring and development opportunities. These tools have not only helped them be their best professional selves, but have allowed them to support a growing network of peers. Over the years, WISE members have shared how WISE has worked for them.

Testimonials

Nicole Bohorad (2016)

"After college, connecting with WISE members helped me figure out where I wanted to focus my career, and one member even helped me get my first job! When I moved to DC from New York years later, I got involved in the chapter there, helping plan a social media panel. Under Armour seemed like a great company in which to find someone heading up social media marketing to join us. The position didn't exist. Ultimately, planning this event led me to a new role at the company."

"I discovered WISE while in graduate school in Atlanta and joined so that I could extend my network while establishing myself in a new city. WISE became a resource for my professional development, providing advice, tools and events that helped me determine my career path. It's always great to be surrounded and inspired by a collective group of women who share a common goal of succeeding (and seeing other succeed) in the business of sports - and that's what I found in WISE. WISE is an awesome organization for establishing valuable connections!"

"When I applied to the WISE Within program, I had no idea it would bring me one of the most important people in my professional career. I can remember the first time Cathy Jerome and I spoke on the phone. We chatted for well over an hour, talking about important issues that face women within the sports world and what it means to juggle life and a successful career. That was three years ago, and now, Cathy is someone I consider not only my mentor, but a close friend."
