"Forget what you know about mentoring because I'm going to share a secret with you: The experience is so much more — so much better — than what you think."
— Bridget Kaye, WISE Within mentee/mentor
January is National Mentoring Month, and since connections and relationship building are at the core of the WISE mission, it's a big deal around here. We're celebrating with a mentoring doubleheader — a series of two virtual events designed to expand your network and help you be a more effective mentor and mentee to those in it.
In the first, "PIE Strategic Mentoring" on Jan. 6, join Usha Pillai, senior consultant of Leading Women and a WISE Professional Development Partner, to learn the difference between supportive and strategic mentoring and why successful women and men receive and give PIE mentoring. You'll leave with practical tools to help you use the PIE approach — which focuses on Performance, Image and Exposure — to enhance your mentoring relationships and earn sponsorship.
Then, if you're a WISE member, apply your learnings during our second event, Speed Mentoring Roundtables on Jan. 13. A combination of the executive roundtable and speed networking event platforms, you'll be matched with peer groups and industry veterans, including WISE Women of the Year and WISE Executive Leadership Institute alum, for meaningful discussions around the issues and questions shaping your career today. Thanks to this year's digital format, you'll have the opportunity to connect with WISE members and industry leaders from across all WISE chapters.
If you're not a member, join today to take advantage of both events in this mentoring doubleheader, as well as other member benefits. And to continue on the mentoring path, check out our integrated, guided mentoring program WISE Within.
