Inspiration comes from many avenues. In our WISE Bookshelf feature, members share some of the titles that have encouraged them to think outside of the box, try a new approach, dig down deep for the confidence they needed to make that big decision or simply allowed them a reprieve from the daily grind. Happy reading!

David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants

Author: Malcolm Gladwell
Genre: Personal Growth

Malcolm Gladwell's books always captivate and entertain me. In David and Goliath, he uses his signature technique of proving his theories through relate-able, anecdotal stories. He presents the conundrum; would you rather be a big fish in a little pond OR a little fish in a big pond? Living in Los Angeles it is easy to fall victim to being a little fish in a big pond. This book inspired me to find opportunities to be a big fish in a little pond.
