Our Leadership

Women in Sports and Events is led by experienced sports business professionals committed to providing women with the tools and resources to take their careers in the industry to the next level. WISE National, governed by a national board of directors, sets organizational strategy while each WISE chapter elects its own board to carry out WISE’s mission at the local level.

 

Kristi Atkins

Director | Chapter Liaison
Kristi Atkins works with WISE's chapters to develop programming that will retain and grow membership. She is also responsible for identifying new markets and in three years has helped launch nine chapters. Kristi is the president of WISE Atlanta.

Courtney Carter

Director | Business Development Chair
Courtney Carter drives fundraising efforts for WISE National by developing mutually beneficial multi-year partnerships with brands, leagues and properties. She also manages the WISE Women of the Year sponsorship committee.

Erica Esposito

Secretary | Governance
Erica Esposito joined the national board in 2015. She oversees best practices regarding legal and corporate governance.

Kathleen Francis

National Board Chair and President
Named chair and president in 2011, Kathleen Francis has overseen growth in membership and league partnerships, chapter expansion, and the launch of such educational programs as the Executive Leadership Institute and WISE/R Symposium.

Sophia Kuo

Director | Digital, Membership, Career Resources Chair
A national board member since 2010, Sophia Kuo chairs several committees and is responsible for strategy, marketing and content. She has been instrumental in the launch of WISE’s key national initiatives and oversaw WISE Within from 2007 to 2012.

Ernestine Miller

Director
Ernestine Miller is a founding member of WISE and has remained active in the organization since, working on several committees and the annual WISE Women of the Year Awards Luncheon. Ernestine was the first president of WISE Washington, DC.

Jen Miller

Vice President | WISE Within National Adviser
Jen Miller is vice president of the national board and national adviser of the WISE Within mentoring program. Since joining the board in 1993, Miller has chaired several committees and co-chaired the search committee for a new president in 2011.

Sue Rodin

Founder and Chair Emerita
Sue Rodin founded WISE in 1993, serving as president during the organization’s first 18 years. She continues to serve on the national board and focuses on the annual WISE/R Symposium and WISE Women of the Year Awards Luncheon.

erin weinberg

Director | Communications/Media Relations
Erin Weinberg joined the national board in 2010. In addition to overseeing communications strategy, she also co-chairs the annual WISE Women of the Year Awards Luncheon.
