Chapter President's Corner: Leah Mastaglio

What inspired you to lead WISE Houston?
I have been involved with WISE since the beginning and have seen first-hand how WISE Houston has helped shape our members careers. As the third chapter president I want to help lead the “next generation” of WISE Houston women and continue to help create career opportunities and development through our programming. It is inspiring to see others take leadership roles within our chapter and mentor other members.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of being chapter president?
The most rewarding is watching our members connect to their peers, form mentoring relationships and grow within their careers. I think it is amazing when members credit WISE Houston with things they learned, and people they have met that have helped them advance in their careers.

What impact has WISE Houston had on the local community?
We have been able to support Dress For Success and host our events at local venues throughout the city. We also create opportunities for women in the sports and events industry in Houston.

What drives WISE Houston?
Our continued growth in membership and providing relevant content for all our events. Our mentoring program is a significant program for us, and we strive to continue to create valuable mentoring relationships.

List three adjectives that best describe WISE Houston.
Diverse. Inspiring. Connected.
