May is Mental Health Awareness Month and it’s critical to take action on steps to improve the mental health of those in the sports and events industry. Following a trend that began at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, rates of burnout, anxiety, and depression are at record rates with 1 in 5 adults living with a mental health diagnosis in the United States (Center for Disease Control). Dear WISE Twin Cities Community: It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I announce my transition out of the role of President of WISE Twin Cities. This is a bittersweet moment for me, as I have been closely involved with the creation and day-to-day operation of the Twin Cities chapter since its inception in 2017, and will miss having the level of involvement that I have been able to enjoy for the last six years.
