The Los Angeles Sparks have named sports industry veteran Vanessa Shay as President. Shay comes to the Sparks from the NWSL’s San Diego Wave FC, where she served as Chief Revenue Officer since the team’s inception in 2021, guiding the new franchise through a successful expansion effort. Kansas City Current has announced that Allison Howard has been hired to serve in a newly-created role as the team’s President. Howard joins the club after a ten-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers. She spent the last five years serving as Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, where she was instrumental in closing the Lakers’ most successful sponsorships and led the organization’s corporate partnership strategy that surpassed $250 million in revenue.
