We're Not Alone

Have you ever had an idea? A dream or a thought about what you could do?
GREAT, it’s not just me.

Have you ever put those ideas into action and then needed some motivation and inspiration?
GREAT, it’s not just me.

Have you ever had a failure or success that you wanted to share with someone who would truly understand and respect the process and be able to contribute to your next steps?
GREAT, it’s not just me.

There are few guarantees in life, but I think it’s safe to say that as we navigate our professional and personal paths, there will be instances of self-doubt, moments when we think and feel, “It’s just me.” Thankfully, there is an existing tool that can help — mentorship.

Having a great mentor shows us that we are not alone and that there is someone who cares and can offer valuable advice, guidance that can allow us to continue to move forward.

Mentor's Perfect Advice

During my WISE Within experience, my mentor and I spent time exploring ways to create exposure for my business. I had assumed that all good advertising had to be paid, but I did not have the budget to support more than one or two paid advertising options, and I knew I was missing out on opportunities for growth.

My mentor made the great suggestion of looking into free advertising options. Now where is the best form of free advertising? Social media! I had an active social media presence, but it was not what it needed to be to serve as an advertising vehicle. As a result of our discussions, I worked with a graphic designer to create some ads that I could alternate, I added a tracking feature to my website, and I created a schedule for posting materials and started posting ads right to my social media accounts.

My mentor’s advice was perfect, exactly what I needed to hear — the free advertising was working. It also led to other opportunities. I’m sure that someone else would have eventually recommended the same things, but when my mentor suggested it, I took it seriously because I took her seriously. There was a trust and commitment there. I am more than pleased with the outcome of her advice, my social media presence and the WISE Within mentoring program.

Plus, it’s great to know that it’s not just me.
