The 16th annual WISE Women of the Year luncheon was held on Wednesday, June 9, 2009 in New York City.

The WISE Women of the Year Award is a prestigious honor that recognizes three extraordinary women who have made a significant impact on the business of sports and events. The WISE membership voted to honor these women while considering the following criteria:

  • Women who in their careers are visible leaders and continue to be a voice for women in the industry
  • Women who have broken down barriers, helped create new opportunities and serve as a resource for other women
  • Women who exemplify professional excellence and are role models for others
