From Nov. 4–9, 2018, WISE hosted 30 of the most influential female sports business executives at the fifth annual leadership institute. In partnership with Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth, the WISE Executive Leadership Institute (WELI) is a five-day intensive study program that is the gold standard in leadership development training in the business of sports.
“This immersive study program gives attendees the leadership tools to help them continue to make positive contributions and deep professional connections to support them on their journey,” said Kathleen Francis, WISE national board chair and president.
Designed to help female executives become more effective leaders as they navigate their respective business environments, WELI’s customized curriculum was developed with the faculty and resources of Tuck Executive Education, the world-renowned business school at Dartmouth. WELI addresses the business and personal skills required for success, as well as specific challenges women face in the industry.
2018 participants included Kara Trent, senior director of North America Merchandising at Under Armour, who said, “This was one of the most rewarding, encouraging and empowering experiences I have had in my professional career. ... I will do my best to harness the energy and excitement from the conference to bring back to my company.”
Launched in 2014, the WISE Executive Leadership Institute has hosted female leaders from leading sports leagues and teams, national networks, sports and entertainment agencies, and other companies across the sports industry.
