Inspiration comes from many avenues. In our WISE Bookshelf feature, members share some of the titles that have encouraged them to think outside of the box, try a new approach, dig down deep for the confidence they needed to make that big decision or simply allowed them a reprieve from the daily grind. Happy reading!

The Seven Deadly Sins of Leadership

Author: Cameron Morrissey
Genre: Management & Leadership

As a member of the launch team, I had the opportunity to read and edit this upcoming book on leadership. Morrissey approaches the book from the perspective of the seven deadly sins as they apply to leadership. Each chapter addresses one of the sins, includes an assessment tool to determine how much your leadership or your boss's leadership falls into that category, discusses the way to recognize it, what the challenges are and even some strategies for dealing with someone who leads like that (or changing your own ways if you lead like that). It is an easy read. You will probably have some "aha" moments as well as somewhere you recognize yourself or others quite readily. Highly recommend. Due out late September [2014]. I promote this of my own accord.
