Inspiration comes from many avenues. In our WISE Bookshelf feature, members share some of the titles that have encouraged them to think outside of the box, try a new approach, dig down deep for the confidence they needed to make that big decision or simply allowed them a reprieve from the daily grind. Happy reading!

Mindset: The New Psychology of Success

Author: Carol Dwek
Genre: Business Life/Psychological Self-Help

My organization is reading Mindset for an all-staff book club, and we will have the chance to meet the author at a retreat in the spring. I'm a few chapters in and already noticing the power of mindset in myself, and in everyday interactions with others. As a lawyer, sports/nonprofit executive and youth basketball coach, I am finding ways this book will impact how I approach my work and personal life, and how I impact my colleagues and the student athletes I coach. Important read for managers, parents and coaches. Overall a good read.
