The Confidence Code:
The Science and Art of Self-Assurance — What Women Should Know
by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman
Genre: Women in Business
I can't even begin to say how eye-opening this book has been. One thing I found extremely interesting is how the authors explain that women often downplay their achievements as being mere "luck." I didn't even realize that I do this too until reading that! It really made me think about all the times I explained my successes as being "lucky" or "in the right place at the right time." I also completely understand what they are saying when they talk about not feeling like I deserve my success — I thought this was just me and didn't realize this is a common issue women face. Needless to say, I'm really enjoying the book and I've already recommended it to many other women.
